Volunteers have been at the heart of EAA's accomplishments throughout the years. EAA AirVenture volunteers share the adventures of the world's greatest aviation celebration!

All interests, experience, and skills can find enjoyment as an EAA AirVenture convention volunteer. From the flightline to the convention office to Camp Scholler, many opportunities are available for you to become a part of EAA's heart and soul as an AirVenture volunteer.
 
Volunteer at EAA AirVenture 2013!

Not sure what type of volunteer assistance you would like to provide for AirVenture 2013? Do you have special skills that you would like to utilize while volunteering? If so, please complete this application and submit to hr@eaa.org (please include "Volunteer" in the subject line). We will try to match your skills and interests to an appropriate area of AirVenture.

Several areas that have a need for general volunteer assistance are listed below. If interested in one of these areas, contact the individual person listed for each specific area for more detailed information.


ACTIVITY CENTER

If you are interested in volunteering in any of the Activity Center areas, contact Sandy at smarsh27@yahoo.com:

Aircraft Greeter: Aircraft Greeters are always in demand, both prior to and during EAA AirVenture. Must be able to stand for 3-4 hours and be in the sun. Must be at least 18 years old.

Craft Tent: Volunteers assist with signing up participants for craft classes and help with distributing craft packets available for purchase. No craft experience needed.

Flying Cinema: Running videos for AirVenture attendees who wish to take in an aviation movie, the volunteer plays the movies at the times listed on the schedule.

Hospitality Pavilion: The place to meet old friends and make new ones, offering refreshments to all who stop by. Help is needed with the refreshments.

Activity Center Office: Sign in volunteers and answer AirVenture attendees' questions.

CAMP SCHOLLER REGISTRATION RAMP

Volunteers needed to greet incoming campers, manage camper traffic through the registration process, and assist with their departure. Help is needed July 25 through August 4. The work involves standing/walking on the outdoor registration ramp. If you are available to help a few days or the entire time, contact Keith Moorman at KGmoorman@bright.net. Please put "Oshkosh Volunteer" in the subject line.



EVENTS & HOSPITALITY

If you are interested in volunteering in any of the Events & Hospitality areas, contact Liz Tellock at ltellock@eaa.org:

Food and Beverage Lodge: Volunteers assist the Lodge staff in preparing cold lunches including building and wrapping sandwiches and general clean up and washing of dishes. No culinary experience is needed.

Linens: Volunteers assist with the distribution and pick up of linens. Carrying bags of linens and pulling carts over grass require heavy lifting.

Event Administration – Golf Carts and Scooters: Record vehicle information and distribute golf carts and scooters to various staff and volunteers.

Collection of Receipts: Collect receipts from each food location and host drawing to find winners.

Delivery: Daily delivery of food in the early morning and replenishment as needed during the course of the day. Need full week commitment for AirVenture. May require some heavy lifting.


EXHIBITS Volunteers needed to work the exhibitor window, from Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, August 4. Must be able to work 4-5 hours each day. Hours needed are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Responsibilities include check-in for commercial exhibitors, phone calls/questions from exhibitors and AirVenture attendees, working with our vendors, must have great customer service. A fast-paced environment with the ability to stand for periods of time and occasional lifting of boxes up to 30 pounds. You may be asked to answer a telephone and operate a credit card machine along with basic office equipment. If interested, contact Holly Williams at hwilliams@eaa.org.

FEDERAL PAVILION Forum Hosts: Volunteers needed to provide short introduction of FAA Pilot Proficiency Program (script provided) as lead-in to federal agency forums, count forum attendees, and collect pilot sign-in sheet for WINGS credit. Morning (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) and afternoon (12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.) shifts available. Contact Cliff Chetwin at 720-320-6264 or kestrelair1@gmail.com if interested.

1903 Wright Flyer Simulator: Volunteers needed to operate the simulator and assist participants in getting in and out of the simulator; no computer skills required. Morning (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and afternoon (1 p.m.-5 p.m.) shifts available. Contact Cliff Chetwin at 720-320-6264 or kestrelair1@gmail.com if interested.

1911 Wright Flyer Simulator: Volunteers needed to operate the simulator and assist participants in getting in and out of the simulator; no computer skills required. FINANCE Several volunteers needed 3-4 hours a day, Sunday, July 28, through Sunday, August 4. Some morning and some evening shifts available. Responsibilities may include: working the teller windows with areas that pick up/drop off money/paperwork, assisting in closing various remote locations that involves picking up money/paperwork, assisting in reconciling paperwork each day in the Finance office. FLIGHTLINE OPERATIONS / OSHKOSH Volunteers needed to assist general aviation arrivals in aircraft parking/camping areas and control aircraft ground traffic on Oshkosh taxiways. Contact Fred Stadler at eaa.flo@usa.net.

FLIGHTLINE OPERATIONS / FOND DU LAC Volunteers needed to assist with general aviation arrivals in aircraft parking/camping areas at the airport in Fond du Lac. For more information, e-mail Pete Vercouteren at vpete101@aol.com.

FORUM HOSTS Volunteers needed to meet and assist presenters, possible introduction of speakers, count attendees, set up, clean up, and other assignments. If interested, contact Keith at kjaosh7@gmail.com.

MAINTENANCE Volunteers needed for pre-convention, site preparations, general maintenance duties, including carpentry, landscaping, painting and sewing/flower planting projects throughout the convention site. Also, need volunteers post-convention for general clean-up and tear down. If interested, contact Steve Taylor at 920-426-4819, e-mail staylor@eaa.org, or via mail at EAA Aviation Center, P.O. NEWSPAPER DISTRIBUTION Volunteers needed to help distribute the AirVenture Today newspaper at various locations on the convention grounds during the day and some early evenings. If interested, contact Randy Halberg at rhalberg@eaa.org.

OPERATION THIRST Volunteers needed to help make sandwich lunches for volunteers. Must be over 16 years old. Also, need people to drive vans for approx. 2 hours daily. If interested, contact Ann Hamilton at 419-886-2166 or via mail at 1237 Poorman Rd., Bellville, OH 44813.

PRINT/MAIL CENTER Volunteers needed to assist with mailing projects, stuffing envelopes, collating, printing assistance, labeling, and data entry. Volunteers needed from spring to after AirVenture. Any hours that you could provide would be of help. No previous experience required.

TRAMS Drivers and conductors needed. Drivers license required and must be at least 21 years of age, training provided. Volunteers needed for the second shift starting at 2 p.m. Contact John Faeh at jfaeh@eaa.org, or via mail at EAA Aviation Center, P.O. Box 3086, Oshkosh, WI 54903.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR ASSISTANT Volunteer needed to partner with the EAA Volunteer Coordinator to provide assistance with the day-to-day operations of the AirVenture Oshkosh volunteer program. View position description
