 2010 EAA SHARE THE SPIRIT SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES

NO DONATION NECESSARY. A DONATION WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING

  1. SPONSOR: The 2010 EAA Share the Spirit Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc. ("EAA"), a tax exempt, charitable organization under I.R.C. §501(c)(3). The purpose of the Sweepstakes is to raise money through donations to support EAA's educational, historic preservation and inspirational endeavors that foster a love of aviation. All donations go to support EAA. Donations are always welcome and are tax deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law. To obtain a copy of these rules by mail, send a self-addressed, postage paid, business-size envelope to the Sweepstakes address listed below.
     
  2. ENTRY: Sweepstakes begins October 1, 2009 or when the first coupon is received and ends Sunday, August 1, 2010. To enter, complete entry coupons at any of the following locations: (i) online at www.airventure.org/sweepstakes by requesting a minimum of one book of ten entry coupons (online entries will be charged a $10 handling fee per book of coupons ordered); (ii) through mail-in entry coupons mailed to EAA members in November 2009, January 2010, March 2010 and May 2010 issues of Sport Aviation; and (iii) through entry coupons available at AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin U.S.A. between July 26 - August 1, 2010 and at other EAA sponsored events prior to AirVenture Oshkosh 2010. Online entries must be received by EAA by 11:59 am CDT on July 31, 2010.
     
    Alternative means of entry: Any eligible person may enter without making a donation by mailing a request along with a self-addressed, postage paid, business-size envelope to the Sweepstakes Address before July 16, 2010. Each properly submitted request received at the Sweepstakes Address by July 16, 2010, will be sent ten entry coupons. Coupons will not be sent from the Sweepstakes Address after July 16, 2010.
     
    All mail-in entry coupons must be sent in a postage paid, business-size envelope to the Sweepstakes Address. There is a limit of ten entry coupons per envelope. There is a limit of 1,000 entry coupons per household regardless of means of entry. Machine or electronically created, duplicated, folded, stapled, taped, laminated, or otherwise damaged or altered coupons will not be accepted. EAA is not responsible for lost, stolen, misdirected, delayed, destroyed or illegible entries. Mailed entries must be received by EAA by August 1, 2010. Each valid entry will receive an equal chance to win, regardless of how you enter.
     
    All entries become the property of EAA and will not be acknowledged or returned. EAA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or suspend the Sweepstakes in whole or in part should a cause or event beyond EAA's reasonable control affect the administration, fairness, proper play, or conduct of the Sweepstakes. Notice of any such event shall be posted at www.airventure.org/sweepstakes. EAA reserves the right to interpret these rules and all entrants agree to be bound by EAA's decisions.
     
  3. ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open only to individuals who reside in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico and all other territories) and Canada (excluding Québec) who are of the age of majority in the state, province or territory in which they reside at the time of entry. This Sweepstakes is not open to public sector employees where such an offer would violate laws, regulations or policies. Employees of EAA, Sweepstakes auditors or Sweepstakes donors, immediate family members (parent, child, sibling & spouse) of such individuals and persons living in the same households as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate.
     
    Void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations of the US and Canada apply.
     
  4. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: Grand prize: 2010 Aviat Husky A-1C, featuring a 180-hp Lycoming Engine, Garmin G500 and GNS 430 Panel-Mount Avionics Suite, Oregon Aero Seat Cushion System, Hartzell Scimitar Composite Propeller, Alaska 31" Bush Wheels, AmSafe 5-point Rotary Buckle Inflatable Air Bag Restraint System, Wipaire C2200 Hydraulic Wheel Skis, plus a Chevron Alliance charge card with a full year's worth of aviation fuel credit, not to exceed $5,000 to be used by December 31, 2011, and 50,000 points in the FlyBuys™ rewards program; total grand prize package approximate or verifiable retail value of US$250,000. Other prizes and their approximate or verifiable retail values are: Honda Big Red™ MUV (ARV US$12,000); Remos Pilot Center Sport Pilot Certificate (maximum ARV US$4,000); Hamilton Men's Khaki Aviation X-Wind Watch (ARV US$1,395); Canon EOS 50D Camera (ARV US$1,300); and Bose® Wave® Music System (ARV US$500). Prize delivery will be at EAA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. All prizes must be claimed by December 31, 2010. Winners are solely responsible for all applicable taxes, licenses, registration fees, and any transportation or shipping fees. EAA is required to collect applicable federal income taxes from US winners of prizes valued at more than $5,000. All reasonable efforts shall be made to award the prizes described. If for any reason a prize is unavailable or undeliverable, EAA reserves the right to substitute an alternative prize of equivalent or greater value. Prizes cannot be assigned, transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.
     
  5. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER; RELEASE: BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, THE WINNER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT EAA HAS NEITHER MADE NOR IS IN ANY MANNER RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, CONDITION OR GUARANTEE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, RELATIVE TO THE PRIZE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, QUALITY, DESIGN, MERCHANTABILITY, MECHANICAL CONDITION, CONSTRUCTION OR FITNESS FOR USE. ALL WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED BY EAA, AND THE WINNER ACCEPTS THE PRIZE "AS IS."

  6. SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION OF PRIZE WINNERS: Limit one prize per person. Potential grand prize winner will be drawn first. As a condition of being awarded any prize, winners will be required to execute and deliver to EAA a signed affidavit of eligibility; acceptance of these rules; release of liability; and any other documents required to execute transfer of the prize or to pay applicable fees and taxes. EAA will award prizes only upon winner verification and final approval. US prize winners will be required to provide EAA with a completed W-9 tax form prior to taking possession of their prizes.
     
    The random drawings will be held between 1 pm and 5 pm CDT on August 1, 2010, during AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 on EAA grounds at or near 3000 Poberezny Road, Oshkosh, WI. Decisions of EAA of winner eligibility, notification, and acceptance or disqualification will be final and binding. Selected winners will be contacted by phone or mail and need not be present to win.
     
    If the selected winner has not complied with the Official Rules, cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, an alternate winner will be selected. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for EAA to use the winner's name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law. All information you provide will be handled according to EAA's privacy policy that can be found at www.eaa.org.
     
  7. WINNER LIST: A list of winners may be viewed online at www.airventure.org/sweepstakes after August 15, 2010. To obtain a list of winners by mail, send a self-addressed, postage paid, business-size envelope to the Sweepstakes address "Attn: Sweepstakes Winners".
     
  8. CONSUMER DISCLOSURE: You have not yet won. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. Odds depend on number of entries. Restrictions apply. Sweepstakes commences on October 1, 2009 and ends August 1, 2010. Online entries must be received no later than 11:59 am CDT on July 31, 2010. Mail-in entries must be received by August 1, 2010. Disclosure copies of EAA's IRS Form 990 are available by sending a written request marked "EAA Form 990" to the Sweepstakes address. In Florida, SC No. CH19972.   9. FOR RESIDENTS OF CANADA ONLY: Selected entrants must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question before being confirmed as a winner and awarded a prize. Selected entrant must sign a declaration of compliance with the contest rules and a release (including publicity release) to obtain a prize.
     
  10. INTERNET: EAA is not responsible for interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions or jumbled, scrambled or misdirected entries or transmissions; phone, electrical, network, computer hardware or software or program malfunctions, failures or difficulties; other errors, omissions, interruptions, or deletions of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic or for any damage to any person's computer related to participating in the Sweepstakes nor for entries that cannot for whatever reason be downloaded or incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in the Sweepstakes or by any technical or human errors which may occur in the processing of any entries in this Sweepstakes. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes, as solely determined by EAA, will be disqualified and may be subject to prosecution. If in the judgment of EAA, the Sweepstakes is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of EAA, which corrupts the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes, EAA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to discontinue, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to select potential winners from among all eligible entries received as of the date of its termination of the Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
