July 9, 2013 - As AirVenture approaches, plans are being finalized for events at the new Education and Interactive Zone (EIZ) and College Park presented by American Airlines.

More than 30 exhibitors are in the EIZ, including the HISTORY Channel, Disney's Planes, United States Air Force, American Airlines, the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators, and a number of colleges and universities promoting their aviation-related fields of study.

College Park is the venue for two major events during AirVenture. On Wednesday, there is a job fair from noon-3 p.m. as job-seekers can network and apply for industry jobs from participating exhibitors. Not all jobs are directly related to flying, so anyone in the job market should stop by and see what these great exhibitors have to offer.

Friday night offers another networking opportunity for youngsters in the form of the College Mixer, presented by American Airlines and supported by Jeppesen and Wargaming.net. The mixer is 6-8:30 p.m. and will be a less-formal chance for students to explore some of the top aviation colleges and programs and interact with peers. This is a free event, but space is limited so be sure to register.

Many other activities are planned throughout the week, including yard games such as bag toss and Frisbee all day, live music Wednesday and Saturday prior to the night air shows, a "Minute to Win It" contest Thursday from 1-2:30 p.m., and educational forums each day from 8:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.

FUTURE AIRVENTURE DATES: 2014: July 28-Aug. 3; 2015: July 20-26; 2016: July 25-31; 2017: July 24-30
