Dennis Butler confirmed he and his Cozy III P - winner of a Gold Lindy in 2012 and a Silver Lindy in 2011 - will participate in EAA's Return of Champions.

May 30, 2013 - Since first being announced last week, more than 15 former champions have signed up to participate in the Return of Champions celebration at AirVenture Oshkosh 2013, including Nancy Pierce's 1973 Grand Champion homebuilt, a Butler Midget Mustang MM1.

Return of Champions is a weeklong celebration recognizing the best of the best - recipients of coveted Lindy Awards from decades past.

Other owners/aircraft returning include the Boeing PT-17 Stearman of Richard Packer, who won a Vintage Grand Champion Lindy in 1986 and has been to every convention but two since; Dennis Butler and his Cozy III P - Gold Lindy in 2012 and Silver Lindy in 2011; Tom Murphy, 2009 Gold Lindy Rotorcraft for his Canadian Home Rotors Safari; and numerous others.

Past Grand Champions or Reserve Grand Champions (Gold and Silver Lindy awards) are cordially invited to participate in the Return of Champions festivities. They'll receive a complimentary weekly wristband, special display signage, and commemorative plaque.

Aircraft will be spotlighted through daily aerial performances and special parking displays on Phillips 66 Plaza as well as in their respective areas. Phillips 66 Plaza will also host special Champions in Review sessions daily through Saturday, featuring select champions from the various judging categories.

The more the merrier - eligible owners wishing to participate in the Return of Champions are required to RSVP.
