Honda's ASIMO humanoid robot will be back in the Honda exhibit with two performances Monday through Thursday next week.
Back by popular demand, this year's AirVenture Honda Aircraft Company exhibit will once again feature ASIMO, the world's most advanced humanoid robot. ASIMO will amaze the audience with two daily performances at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, thrilled audiences last year with its remarkable performance. It can independently walk forward, backward, up and down stairs, in straight lines, and on curves. ASIMO is also the only bipedal humanoid robot in the world capable of running up to 4 mph.
Along with demonstrations of ASIMO's physical capabilities, HondaJet test pilot Stefan Johansson will conduct chats with pilots Michael Goulian, Sean D. Tucker; and the AeroShell Team will be signing autographs. Visit their exhibit to see the complete schedule.
Originally designed to assist people in their homes, ASIMO is currently being used to encourage and inspire young people to pursue studies in science, math, and technology.
