EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS Feed Awesome Musical Lineup Set for AirVenture

AirVenture 2012 kicks off with the Steve Miller Band in the annual Opening Night Concert presented by Ford Motor Company on Monday, July 23.
"Salute to Veterans" festivities on Friday, July 27, close with a special concert by versatile country star Phil Vassar.

Marquee musical acts are headed to EAA AirVenture 2012, providing The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration with a variety of evening entertainment options all week.

All musical performances are included with AirVenture admission.

  • Steve Miller Band, Monday, July 23, 7 p.m. - The classic rock legends, who have sold more than 30 million albums featuring such hits as "Fly Like an Eagle," "The Joker," "Rock'n Me," and "Jet Airliner," kick off the week in the annual opening night concert presented by Ford Motor Company.

  • Little Texas, Wednesday, July 25, 9 p.m. - The country-rock band will take to the Theater in the Woods stage, where they will perform a catalog of their hits from the past 25 years, including top hits like "God Blessed Texas" and "What Might Have Been." Guitarist Dwayne O'Brien, EAA 627171/Warbirds 23385/IAC 28325, released a solo album called Song Pilot, which blends his dual interests in music and aeronautics. The song "We Remember" has been played each year during the Warbirds Extravaganza air show as a tribute to military aircraft.

  • Phil Vassar, Friday, July 27, 8 p.m. - The versatile country star will cap off the day's "Salute to Veterans" festivities at Theater in the Woods with a special concert presented by Disabled American Veterans and EAA Warbirds of America. Vassar's resume boasts numerous hits he has written for notable artists, plus many more hits as an artist in his own right including his latest, "Don't Miss Your Life."

  • Da BLOOZE Bros, Saturday, July 28, 6:30 p.m. - Back for an encore performance thanks to Ford Motor Company, the ultimate Blues Brothers tribute band will bring its blues extravaganza to the Ford Hangar.

  • Boogie Knights, Saturday, July 28, 7 p.m. - The heralded 1970s cover band will take to the Theater in the Woods stage for a high-energy show presented by Southwest Airlines.

Additionally, the Flying Musicians Association will host interactive jam sessions Monday through Friday at Honda Forums Pavilion No. 9. Each night from 7-10 p.m., a featured act will perform before opening up the stage for open-mic performances and an all-out jam session.
