Build A Plane, in cooperation with EAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), will sponsor Teachers Day at AirVenture 2012 for the fourth consecutive year. Educators at all grade levels from across the United States will learn techniques for bringing aviation into their classrooms on July 24 at the EAA Founders' Wing in the EAA AirVenture Museum.
"We are amazed by how many great opportunities are out there to use aviation to engage and motivate kids to learn," said Lyn Freeman, Build A Plane president. "Today's students respond to real-world applications and aviation really captures their attention."
Teachers Day sessions will offer materials from private industry, the federal government, and aviation organizations. Participants can attend hands-on presentations and speak directly to program specialists. A variety of free, take-home materials will also be available for all attendees.
Lunch and a free one-day admission to AirVenture is also provided for each teacher who completes the course.
Organizations presenting materials include the National Air and Space Museum, FAA, Van's Aircraft, EAA's Young Eagles program, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and others. Space is limited so register today. For more information contact Build A Plane at 804-843-3321.
