Rockwell Collins Night Air Show Returns to Provide an AirVenture 'Skylight'
The Rockwell Collins Night Air Show returns on Saturday, July 28.
A dazzling fireworks display and the "Wall of Fire" will cap off the final evening of EAA AirVenture 2012.
"Skylights" will fill the night air over Oshkosh when the Rockwell Collins Night Air Show returns to EAA AirVenture 2012 on Saturday, July 28. Since debuting in 2010, this event has become the marquee attraction of "Super Saturday" on AirVenture's final evening.
It is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 p.m., with fireworks and the "Wall of Fire" to follow.
The Rockwell Collins Night Air Show is a one-of-a-kind, signature event, bringing tens of thousands of people to the flightline to see some of the world's best aerobatic artists performing in sync with pyrotechnics and music.
Crowd favorites like the AeroShell Aerobatic Team (four T-6s), Bob Carlton (jet sailplane), and Gene Soucy (Showcat) are scheduled to return in 2012, and they will be joined by two new all-star additions to the lineup - Bill Leff (T-6) and Elgin Wells (StarJammer).
Also joining the action will be Dragon's Fyre Jet Truck andJet Funny Car.
"The Rockwell Collins Night Air Show is without a doubt one of the most talked about attractions of the AirVenture week," said Jim DiMatteo, EAA vice president of AirVenture features and attractions. "This will be the perfect way to celebrate the final evening of AirVenture 2012 and cap off what we expect to be a memorable week."
Carnival-style food and beverages will be available for purchase on Phillips 66 Plaza, adding to the festive atmosphere.
