Chart-topping country band plays Theater in the Woods on Wednesday, July 25
Little Texas plays at Theater in the Woods on Wednesday, July 25.
With several chart-topping hits in tow, Little Texas will be bringing its brand of rockin' country to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012. On Wednesday, July 25, the energetic band will be performing some of their top hits, like "God Blessed Texas" and "What Might Have Been."
The performance is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. at the Theater in the Woods, and caps AirVenture's salute to the "Greatest Generation in the Air Day" on Wednesday. Theater in the Woods programming is supported by M&Ms.
Formed in 1988 in Nashville, Little Texas earned the reputation as "the hardest working band in country music" - playing more than 300 shows a year. With three No. 1 singles under their belt by 1994, the band solidified their standing as a country music powerhouse, collecting several music awards including several Grammy nominations.
Not only has the band gained national fame over the years, but one of its members is also a true aviation enthusiast. Guitarist Dwayne O'Brien, EAA 627171/Warbirds 23385/IAC 28325, released a solo album called Song Pilot, which blends his dual interests in music and aeronautics. The song "We Remember" has been played each year during the Warbird Extravaganza air show as a tribute to military aircraft.
With more than two decades of experience under their belts and a pilot in the mix, Little Texas will be a welcome addition to the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh lineup. This year, they will be joining such bands as the Steve Miller Band on Monday, July 23, Da BLOOZE Bros and Boogie Knights on Saturday, July 25, plus a special concert Friday night to be announced, for a week of music and celebration.
