The service and sacrifice of veterans and active military personnel will be honored throughout the week of EAA AirVenture 2012 with numerous activities and tributes saluting veterans' service.
On Friday, July 27, all veterans and active military personnel can once again display their pride with a free "Salute to Veterans" commemorative hat, courtesy of Oshkosh Corporation, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and EAA Warbirds of America.
Additionally, Scotts Miracle-Gro, presenting sponsor of the popular Scotts Warbird Alley, will again offer a free commemorative lapel pin to all veterans and active military personnel throughout AirVenture.
Hats (on July 27 only) and pins are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a pickup location adjacent to the wayfinding tower in the Warbirds area, while supplies last. Veterans and military personnel must be present to receive their hat and pin.
If you see an AirVenture guest with one of these hats or pins proudly displayed, be sure to thank them for their courageous service.
