CBP:
Protecting our borders
|
| |
|
When threats appear at our borders, when
unscrupulous drug traffickers or human smugglers want to insert
themselves into the U.S., the Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP)
works to thwart those threats. Representatives of the more than 53,000
CBP staffers are again in AirVenture’s Federal Pavilion.
Visit the CBP to learn about the eAPIS
program—the electronic advance passenger information system pilots
need to use when crossing the U.S. border. Earlier this week the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP announced changes to the
way eAPIS works to eliminate duplicative filing and reporting
requirements and to simplify the process of dealing with CBP and the
Transportation Security Administration.
The largest agency within the DHS, CBP
also works to facilitate legal trade and traffic across the borders,
whether on land, in the air, or on the water.
