EAA and the EAA Homebuilt Aircraft Council
are introducing a new venue this year: the Homebuilders Hangar, located
just north of the Ace’s Cafeteria adjacent to the Forums Plaza. Past
AirVenture attendees will remember this as the former NASA building.
“The Homebuilders Hangar will be a hub
of activity for the homebuilder-craftsman community,” said Joe Norris,
EAA’s homebuilders’ community manager. “It’s the first step in a
multi-phase facelift of the homebuilt area at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.”
The Homebuilders Hangar will feature
twice-daily Homebuilts in Review presentations where builders/designers
such as Burt Rutan talk about their creations and answer questions.
Check www.AirVenture.org/schedule
for more information about speakers and times.
The Homebuilders Hangar is also designed to be used as a social
gathering spot for homebuilders, with tables and chairs set up to meet
and chat in the shade and water available to quench your thirst. The “What
We’re Building” bulletin board allows homebuilders to post a photo
of their project. Another board will feature for sale/wanted items.
You can also visit the Hangar’s kiosk
for homebuilding information and answers to your questions from EAA
staff and Homebuilt Aircraft Council members.
