EAA members are known for their
can-do spirit, and nowhere has that been exemplified more than here
on the AirVenture grounds for the past several days.
In my 35 years as convention
chairman, I have never witnessed such challenging conditions. The
recent rains have required us to adapt and improvise solutions so
that we can open our fly-in to guests from around the world today
and present a world-class aviation event.
We could not have reached this point
today without the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our
volunteers and without the cooperation of campers, exhibitors,
vendors, partners, and the local community, which has reached out to
help EAA and its membership.
I want to thank everyone for their
outstanding efforts as well as their patience and understanding as
we meet these challenges.
The show will go on. Welcome to EAA
AirVenture Oshkosh 2010. May everyone have a wonderful week.
