EAA has a great electronic solution for
those who cannot attend EAA AirVenture 2010; expanded online AirVenture
coverage through streaming video, audio, and online reporting. The
AirVenture online experience begins by visiting www.AirVenture.org
where links can be found to our live content as well as information
about what's happening in Oshkosh.
Once at AirVenture.org, click on the
AirVenture LIVE link starting July 25 to find the latest news, photos,
and videos; as well as links to EAA Radio, The Runway Cams, Theater in
the Woods, and LiveATC.net. Plus we'll have the latest posts from
Twitter and Facebook communities.
EAA Radio
AirVenture truly can follow you anywhere with EAA Radio which broadcasts
24-hour programming locally over AM 1210 and 93.3 FM. For those outside
the terrestrial radius of the EAA Radio transmitters, the web, and on
many smart phones will do. Visit EAARadio.net
to listen to the broadcast (live right now), download mobile phone apps
including the updated EAA Radio app for iPhone OS 4, view the
up-to-the-minute schedule, and sign up for the Twitter
feed and Facebook
page. You can also watch live guests on EAA Radio's online
TV channel.
New this year is EAA Radio Live
supported by Rotorway International. EAA Radio Live will be
broadcast each day from the EAA Welcome Center at 11 a.m. CDT and
feature many familiar aviation names including Cessna CEO Jack Pelton,
EAA Young Eagles Co-Chairmen Sully Sullenberger and Jeff Skiles, FAA
Administrator Randy Babbitt, and the 200th episode of Uncontrolled
Airspace: The General Aviation Podcast.
Runway Cams
Last year's wildly popular BlueDot cam began as an EAA Radio R &
D project, borne by its close proximity to the famed BlueDot on Runway
18R at Wittman Regional Airport. The BlueDot is back again this year
along with two chances to see AirVenture activity. The 9-27 Cam will
show arrivals on Wittman's East-West runway and the AeroShell Square Cam
will keep an unblinking eye on main aircraft display area. The Runway
Cams are a member benefit and can be viewed by visiting Oshkosh365.org.
Theater in the Woods LIVE
Since 1999 EAA Radio has allowed those who could not find a seat at
Theater in the Woods to listen to the nightly programs, performances,
and presentations. Now EAA is offering its members a chance to watch
Theater in the Woods live on the nights of July 25-29. Theater in the
Woods LIVE can be viewed by visiting Oshkosh365.org.
The New Brightcove Video Player
EAA Video's Brightcove
Video Player has been upgraded with an improved search functions,
Most Recently Uploaded and Most Popular videos listed, Facebook
integration, full screen, new channels structure, and some support for
mobile users with more coming.
AirVenture News Coverage
Look to AirVenture LIVE for the latest news updates along with
photos, videos, and the daily AirVenture edition of e-Hotline. If
you have ever attended AirVenture you may have read AirVenture Today,
the official daily newspaper. This year it will be available in digital
format about the same time (early mornings) the paper issues are hitting
newsstands across the convention grounds.
Social Media
It wouldn't be The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration if you were not
involved. EAA will feature several Twitter feeds during the show,
including your tweets. Don't forget about Facebook, where both EAA and
user-submitted content is encouraged. Join the fun at AirVenture's Facebook
page.
LiveATC.net
Through a partnership with LiveATC.net,
EAA is bringing users more into the moment by providing live streaming
of Oshkosh Tower and related air traffic control frequencies. Look for
the link at AirVenture LIVE.
