EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS Feed2010 AirVenture Cup Race Returns to South Dakota

The 13th running of the EAA AirVenture Cup race will return to Mitchell, South Dakota, this year in a straight-line dash to Oshkosh on Sunday July 25. The nation's largest cross-country race is open to all aircraft certificated in the experimental category and will have 10 classes this year including a category for light-sport aircraft.

"We chose Mitchell in 2008, as an experiment and it turned out to be successful," said AirVenture Cup Chairman Eric Whyte. "The town really rolled out the red carpet for us and we're hoping to build on the experiences of the 2008 race." Whyte invites AirVenture attendees flying in from the west coast to stop in Mitchell on Saturday July 24, to participate in an open house to showcase general aviation.

Potential participants should visit AirventureCup.com for more information. Applications will be posted soon and can be downloaded from the website when available.

FUTURE AIRVENTURE DATES: 2014: July 28-Aug. 3; 2015: July 20-26; 2016: July 25-31; 2017: July 24-30
