EAA AirVenture Today

July 31, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin  - You might think that this afternoon’s departure of the huge Airbus A380 would leave an equally huge hole on AeroShell Square—but don’t worry; a nearly as large Lockheed C-5 will take its place.

The Airbus A320 is scheduled to depart Wittman Regional Airport at 3 p.m. today. Then, at about 3:30 p.m., a fully modernized C-5M Super Galaxy will make a low-level pass and arrive at Oshkosh.

The C-5M is the newest upgrade of the USAF's huge cargo airport. It will depart Oshkosh on August 2.

And you were worried there’d be a lack of shade on the square.

FUTURE AIRVENTURE DATES: 2014: July 28-Aug. 3; 2015: July 20-26; 2016: July 25-31; 2017: July 24-30
