July 29, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - On Tuesday morning, EAA unveiled the 2010 EAA Share the Spirit Sweepstakes grand prize: a brand new, well-equipped Aviat Husky A-1C donated to EAA by Aviat Aircraft. The sweepstakes raises money for EAA’s Young Eagles and aviation education programs.

Joining EAA President Tom Poberezny and Aviat Aircraft President Stu Horn were representatives from other companies donating items to the airplane, including Garmin (a GNS 430, and a new G500); Hartzell Propeller (a Scimitar Composite Propeller); Oregon Aero (seat cushion system); AmSafe (a five-point rotary buckle inflatable airbag restraint system); and Lycoming Engines (180-hp engine).

EAA Chapter 22 of Rockford, Illinois, has organized the sweepstakes since the early 1960s.

Tickets for the red, white, and blue aircraft are $1 each or six for $5, 13 for $10, 27 for $20, and even better deals for larger quantities. Sweepstakes tickets can be purchased at the EAA Sweepstakes building, just south of Exhibit Hangar A. The Husky is parked right outside.
