All eyes are skyward as the Airbus A-380 arrives in Oshkosh on
Tuesday afternoon. |
July 28, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - The
Airbus A380 test vehicle #004 arrived right on schedule today, flying over
the flightline at Wittman Regional Airport at 3 p.m. The plane did
multiple flybys to the delight of the thousands watching from below.
The plane department Milwaukee's General
Mitchell International Airport earlier for the short final leg of its
journey to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2009.
On board the Airbus is Pilot Claude
Lelaie's Cri-Cri, one of the world's smallest planes.
The craft will be towed to its parking spot
on AeroShell Square and readied for walk-through tours starting Wednesday
morning. Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 9
a.m. to noon on Friday.
Another flight demonstration is planned for
Friday afternoon when the A380 departs EAA AirVenture.
