July 27, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - I’ve
been chairman of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for more than 30 years. Without
question, this is one of the finest lineups of airplanes and programs we
have ever presented to EAA members, their families and guests, and the
worldwide aviation community.
“Oshkosh” has become aviation’s buffet.
There is something for everyone, and everyone leaves with something they
will remember. For firsttime visitors, I hope your visit exceeds
expectations. For Oshkosh veterans, it’s a chance to renew friendships
and enjoy the wide variety of airplanes on the flightline.
We are proud that Oshkosh is recognized
globally as one of aviation’s premier events. We maintain a unique niche
in the aviation-event community because Oshkosh represents aviation’s
“big tent.” All aspects of aviation innovation and technology are
brought together for one week in Oshkosh, but the impact extends
throughout the year. This weeklong celebration serves as a major economic
catalyst for the industry while making it possible for people to act on
their dreams by providing an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and
skills that turn spectators into participants.
People, planes, participation, and passion…it
all comes together here. Thanks for being a part of the “Oshkosh
Experience.” Enjoy!
