July 27, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - AirVenture
attendees can discover the latest innovations in aircraft fuels and ways
to fly affordably at the new Aviation Learning Center, supported by
Chevron Global Aviation. The center is located right along the flightline
just east of the Forums Plaza.
“One of the hallmarks of EAA over the past
50-plus years has been the constant innovation in all areas of flight, and
the desire to find more efficient and inexpensive ways to enjoy the
freedom of flight,” said Ron Wagner, EAA manager of field relations. “We
also know that very often, the ideas presented at Oshkosh spark even more
creative thought about how to make flying more economical, safe, and fun.”
At the Aviation Learning Center, you can learn
about:
-
Affordable Flying -
Where members share ways they have discovered to make flying more
affordable. This will consist of both aircraft on display and forums.
-
Fuel Education -
Where visitors can learn about the history of aviation fuels as well
as get some glimpses of what the future may hold. This may include
alternative fuels and new innovations. There will be hands-on
demonstrations, displays, and forums.
-
Electric Power for
Aircraft - Much work is being done in this innovative area.
Exhibits and forums featuring aircraft from around the world will tell
the story of this pioneering work.
