Eagles Gathering Thursday Night, on display at the Ford Pavilion. |
July 27, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - This
year marks Ford Motor Company’s 11th as a major EAA AirVenture sponsor,
and it’s ramping up for another blockbuster event. From today’s
concert with the Doobie Brothers to creating the one-of-a-kind Dearborn
Doll Mustang AV-X10 to benefit Young Eagles and other youth education
initiatives, the Fly-In Theater, and a full slate of activities and
specials at the Ford Hangar, Ford is launching its second decade in style.
After the air show today, stick around for the
Doobies’ concert starting at 6 p.m. next to the Ford Hangar. Then
throughout the week enjoy everything that Ford has to offer in the most
exciting week in aviation!
Welcome to the Ford Hangar
Eligible guests to the Ford Hangar can pick up a Flight Plan and visit
designated Ford representatives to receive a Ford 2009 AirVenture
collector’s hat. The mechanical bucking bronco returns, with daily
professional riding shows and free rides to guests at the Ford Hangar.
Hank, a robot that can see, hear, and interact with guests, is your host
at the Hangar, and will inform guests of the Ford activities for the week
at AirVenture. Hank is also the host of Ford’s Drive One Challenge.
Let’s go out to the movies
The EAA Fly-In Theater, presented by Ford and supported by Hamilton
Watches, will feature a great aviation movie every night through Saturday,
August 1. The first flick is tonight with the showing of the new
documentary Barnstorming. Each evening’s presentation begins at 8:30
p.m., weather permitting. The movies will be shown on a five-story-high
projection screen. Admission (and popcorn) is free.
Ride in a classic Model T
On Thursday, July 30, Ford will be offering rides in original Model T
cars from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Each ride will take passengers one mile
around the grounds from Pioneer Airport. What a great chance to experience
what it was like to ride in the world’s first mass-produced car!
Test-drive the 2011
Fiesta EAA visitors can get a special sneak preview of the all-new
Ford Fiesta before it even goes on sale in the United States! Check out
the “Fiesta Movement” located by the EAA AirVenture Museum, Thursday
through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to experience it.
Challenge your friends and family
Participate in the HoleShot Challenge, Quicklane Challenge, and Custom
Accessories Instant Win Game in the Ford Hangar. Put the pedal to the

filters, air filters, and battery shells. Spin the giant wheel in the
Custom Accessories Instant Win Game to win fabulous prizes.
