Doobie Brothers |
July 26, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - Continuing
the tradition begun four years ago, Ford Motor Company presents American
recording legends the Doobie Brothers to perform an opening day AirVenture
concert adjacent to the Ford Motor Company Hangar on AeroShell Square. The
performance, free of charge to all AirVenture guests that day, starts
following the afternoon air show.
Led by co-founding members Tom Johnston and
Patrick Simmons, the Doobies are known the world over and have attracted
multiple generations of fans. Their unique style defies a single
definition, but has left its unquestioned mark on music history. From
their first top 40 hit in 1972, “Listen To The Music,” through No. 1
hits such as “Black Water” and “What A Fool Believes,” and classic
songs such as “China Grove” and “Minute By Minute,” the Doobie
Brothers have created an instantly identifiable American sound that
continues to thrill longtime fans and welcomes a new generation to their
music.
More information is available at the band’s
website, www.DoobieBros.com.
The opening-day concert at EAA AirVenture—along
with Ford Motor Company’s support of the Fly-In Theater and the vehicles
used during the event, discounts on Ford Motor Company vehicles for EAA
members— continues to highlight Ford’s support for EAA members. Ford
will also offer additional highlights and benefits for EAA members and
AirVenture attendees during this year’s fly-in.
