Each
year, a number of EAA members show up at Oshkosh with unique contraptions
they use to get around Camp Scholler. There are motorized couches, powered
La-Z-Boys and bar stools, an eight-place bicycle, and other unique
vehicles.
On Wednesday, July 29, a "Creative
Transportation" judging contest will be held starting at 7 p.m. at
the Camp Scholler Red Barn, and anyone with those types of vehicles is
invited to come and show his or her creation. Entries will be divided into
five categories, including:
- Electric Power - electricity providing
the principle propulsion.
- Gas Power - gas or diesel providing the
principle propulsion
- Human Power - some form of human power
(pedals, cranks, etc.) providing principle propulsion.
- Modified Production - any production
vehicle (bike, golf cart, go cart, etc.) that has been modified to the
owner's specifications.
- Outrageous Creativity - thinking outside
the box in design, paint, construction, configuration, etc.
Vehicles entries should arrive at the Camp
Scholler Red Barn following the air show, and judging will begin promptly
at 7 p.m. A parade including the participating vehicles will proceed at
approximately 8:30 p.m.
