Tom and Sharon Poberezny, along with a group of EAAers and members of the Scaled Composites team, in front of WhiteKnightTwo, which will make its public debut this summer at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2009.

While in Southern California last week, EAA President/Chairman Tom Poberezny visited Scaled Composites in Mojave where he and a group of EAA members had the opportunity to see WhiteKnightTwo, the "Mothership" that will carry SpaceShipTwo tourists to suborbital space.

"I have seen photos of WhiteKnightTwo , but after seeing it personally, it was larger and more dramatic than I ever imagined," Poberezny said. "It exceeded my expectations! Photos can't share the impact and emotion you feel when you see WhiteKnightTwo personally."

Poberezny and the group received a briefing from Scaled founder Burt Rutan and the Scaled team on the aircraft's progress, as well as that of the space vehicle, SpaceShipTwo.

"After learning more about WhiteKnightTwo, we all left extremely excited about the opportunity EAAers will have when it arrives at Oshkosh in July," he said. WhiteKnightTwo will kick off the afternoon air show on Opening Day Monday, July 27, and then be on display throughout the week before departing on Saturday, August 1.
