EAA fuels your passion for flight

EAA President Tom Poberezny

On behalf of EAA members worldwide, welcome to the56th annual fly-in convention of the EAA. Known far and wide as the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration, most people refer to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh by the name of its hometown…Oshkosh.

For many in aviation, it’s a mecca, the place they must visit not just once in their lifetime, but every year. No matter your aviation interest, EAA AirVenture fuels your personal passion for flight.

EAA AirVenture inspires people to dream beyond the limits of today and to reach for goals thought unattainable. EAA sustains developing dreams by sharing them with a family of aviation enthusiasts. This is why designers and builders, whether they are commercial aircraft companies or individuals working in their garages, proudly present their creations on the Oshkosh stage.

Most important, EAA AirVenture makes it possible for people to act on their dreams by providing the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills that turn spectators into participants. This effort is one that EAA has championed, not only during its weeklong celebration of flight, but every day since it was founded in January 1953. To discover the full range of aviation opportunities EAA offers, visit the EAA Welcome Center. And if you’re interested in taking wing as a pilot, stop by the EAA Learn to Fly Discovery Center just south of the EAA Welcome Center.

As you enjoy the aircraft and activities here in Oshkosh, look beyond the surface and absorb the realized and developing dreams. Whether they touch one person or thousands, each dream is important because that’s what keeps our passion alive and gives aviation its future.
