EAA
AirVenture Oshkosh is the annual gathering place for aviation
enthusiasts, so it’s only natural that many type clubs also hold
special events, dinners, and meetings in and around Oshkosh throughout
the week. Listed below are the meetings and gatherings scheduled during
EAA AirVenture 2008.
The
Acro Sport dinner/meeting will be at Robbins Restaurant, 1810 Omro
Rd., Oshkosh, on Thursday, July 31. Cocktails are at 6:30 p.m. with an

or go to the Acro Sport tent in the workshop area during the convention.
Avid
Flyer will hold a type club meeting on Wednesday, July 30, at 1 p.m.
under the big tent at the EAA Seaplane Base. For more information

The
BD-4 group will meet at the Delta Restaurant, 515 N. Sawyer St.,
Oshkosh, on Thursday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will be ordering

The
Bearhawk Builders will gather on Tuesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. in Camp
Scholler for its annual barbecue. Please sign up at the Avipro booth
where you will receive a map and directions to the location. Cost is a
monetary donation.
The
Beech Aero Club will meet on Tuesday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at the
Larry Last residence, adjacent to the airport (3827 Red Oak Ct.). A
shuttle from Gate E01 will be provided; please call 414-397-8215.
The
Bellanca-Champion Club will meet at the Fin ’n Feather Restaurant
in Winneconne, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, July 30, after 6 p.m. Enjoy a
nice buffet or order from the menu. Drivers and riders will be matched
for ride-sharing at the Type Club Tent Headquarters.
Cardinal
Flyers Online will meet on Thursday, July 31, at 11:30 a.m. at the
Nature Center. Tentative menu plans are for barbecue chicken and pork.

The
Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association will meet on Wednesday, July
30, at the Hilton Garden Inn, on the north side of Runway 9-27, at 6:30
p.m. for cocktails (there’ll be a cash bar). Hors d’oeuvres will be
followed by a grilled tenderloin and mahi-mahi dinner. Special dietary
requests can be accommodated. Dinner is at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $45 for

The De
Havilland Tiger Moth and Chipmunk Club of North America will meet on
Thursday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m. at The Water City Grill, Algoma Room,
107 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh. Cost is $28. RSVP to sbetzler@empirelevel.com.
Cocktails are at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is at 7:30 p.m. The menu is a
chef’s buffet.
Dyke
Delta enthusiasts will be meeting at the Homebuilders Headquarters
on Wednesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. Jim Maher is the contact. All are
welcome to this gathering.
The
GlaStar and Sportsman Association will hold its annual cookout on
Wednesday, July 30, starting about 6 p.m. in Camp Scholler. Our trailer
base camp is located 37 yards due north of 52nd St. and Lindbergh Ave.
It is in the wooded area of the campground directly south of the exhibit
buildings.
EAA’s
annual Homebuilders Dinner is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, in the
Nature Center Pavilion. Tickets ($12) are available at the Homebuilders
Headquarters.
Micro
Mong builders and owners will meet at the EAA Seaplane Base,
Margaritaville area, on Wednesday, July 30, at 3 p.m.
Quickie
builders will meet on the porch of the Homebuilders Headquarters
from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31. Doug Humble is the

The
Swift Museum Foundation Inc. will hold its annual "Swift Dinner
at Oshkosh" at the Fin ’n Feather, Winneconne, Wisconsin, on
Thursday, July 31. Cocktails are 6:00-7:00 p.m. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m.
Reservations, directions, and transportation details will be at the
Swift Forum site by Thursday morning.
The
Velocity owners and builders will meet on Wednesday, July 30, at 6
p.m. in Camp Scholler, on the corner of 10th and Elm, for brats,
burgers, and beverages. If you can bring a side dish, it would be most
