Twenty years ago next year, Mac Swindell,
EAA 618280, earned his Private Pilot Certificate and he plans to
celebrate that milestone in style - he's bringing the family to Oshkosh
next July 27-August 2 for EAA AirVenture 2009.
This happens to be Swindell's turn to
pick the family vacation destination, so he decided they'd make their
first trip to AirVenture Oshkosh. That decision was made even easier
when he read about advance tickets becoming available online in the
October 30 edition of e-Hotline. Swindell wasted little time logging on
and buying five tickets for he and his wife, Taylora, and their three
sons ages 7, 10, and 12. In fact, he was first in line at the AirVenture
cyber window.
"As soon as I saw they were
available, I went ahead and bought 'em," he said. "We're
looking forward to all of it, the entire week - the airplanes, the
vendors, the air shows. I can't wait!"
The Swindells will camp throughout the
week in their pop-up, which means they'll drive to Oshkosh from their
home in Piedmont, Oklahoma. "I'd love to fly up but can't figure
out how to tow the trailer behind the airplane," he joked. Mac
flies a Beech A36 Bonanza.
This is the first time ever that tickets
to the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration are available for purchase
before the holiday season, which has aviation enthusiasts everywhere
dreaming of a Flight Christmas.
Tickets purchased in advance include
discounts of $2 for daily admissions and $5 for weekly admissions. Join
the Swindell family at Oshkosh this year, and order
your tickets today!
