EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS FeedEAAer Arrives in Northeastern Wisconsin From Israel
After beginning his flight from Tel Aviv, Israel, to AirVenture Oshkosh on July 7, Yair Gil, EAA 703228, landed today in his Cozy MK-IV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The homebuilder landed in Iqaluit, NU, Canada on July 18, continued his journey to Aéroport La Grande Riviére in Radisson, Quebec, Canada, and finally landed in the United States.

After traveling since early July, Gil was pleased to land in the U.S. and see that the price per gallon of gas is much cheaper here than other places around the world. "After I paid about $15.50 per gallon (of avgas) all over Europe, I will survive the fuel price at any American airport," Gil said.

He plans to meet other members of the Cozy builders group at AirVenture, making this his 13th convention. Gil has flown long distances before; he flew his Piper Navajo from Pennsylvania to Israel in 1993.

Israel to Oshkosh
Yair Gil from Kadima, Israel, flew his Cozy over 45 hours to Oshkosh and arrived this week.
