EAA received word from Yair Gil, EAA 703228, that he was to begin the first leg of his flight from Tel Aviv, Israel, to AirVenture Oshkosh today, July 7, in his Cozy MK-IV. The homebuilder plans to meet up with other members of the Cozy builders group when he arrives.
"I like flight adventures, and this flight will definitely be one of them," Gil said. "I promised my group that when my plane was finally ready, I would meet them all in Oshkosh. Now that it’s finished, I have to repay my commitment."
Gil has flown long distances before; he flew his Piper Navajo from Pennsylvania to Israel in 1993. He’s also flown to AirVenture commercially since 1994, and this will mark his 13th convention.
