Safe Ground Operations for Conventional Gear (Tail Wheel) Aircraft
All pilots feel a need to be vigilant regarding safety issues. They carefully inspect their aircraft during pre-flight, run up the engine(s), check the weather. They ask themselves, “Am I physically and mentally ready to fly today?” Simply stated, pilots make many critical, safety-based decisions before the wheels start to roll.  Learn more

Departure Briefing
All pilots departing on Runway 18/36 before the daily air show should have a departure briefing, available on ATIS (128.75), in the EAA AirVenture NOTAM, or in the Departure Briefing shack located east of the control tower starting at 7 a.m., at the tent in South Aircraft Parking (Row 113), or from the roving briefer circulation through the South aircraft parking in a vehicle with a Departure Briefing sign.

Foreign Visitors
Experimental amateur-built aircraft and advanced ultralight aircraft registered in Canada do not need the TSA waiver if they can comply with the terms of the current border crossing NOTAM (2/5319) and the FAA Canadian ultralight and amateur-built aircraft border crossing Special Flight Authorization (SFA)

Pilots flying foreign-registered aircraft who are unable to comply with any of the above, as it applies to you, must apply for and receive a TSA international waiver.

EAA Provides Guidance for Understanding New Border-Crossing Rules
EAA is providing assistance to general aviation pilots affected by new U.S. Customs (CBP) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) federal rules for U.S. border crossing. Tools available to general aviation pilots entering the U.S., departing the U.S., or otherwise crossing the U.S. border by air include an overview document plus additional updates for sorting out the various and complex requirements, and a downloadable kneeboard fact sheet for quick reference.

Graphic TFR Notams
When flying in the U.S. EAA strongly encourages you to check Notams for current temporary flight restrictions (TFR's) that may affect your route of flight. There are two methods available to do this:

1. EAA Flight Planner - plots your desired route of flight and shows any TFR's that may affect the flight. The TFR display on this site allows you to show the TFR on many different types of aviation maps, including a VFR section.
2. FAA Graphic NOTAM web page - using the links for each posted TFR, this site allows you to read the exact NOTAM and also provides a link to a graphic display of the TFR area. The graphic display does not allow you the option to select different types of aviation maps to display the TFR on.

Fuel Service at Oshkosh
Basler Flight Service will have fuel trucks on the field from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. We will have two fuel information booths - one located across from North Forty Registration, and the other adjacent to the Antique Classic Cafe. Hard surface parking is available on the Basler Ramp at the north end of the field right off of Taxiway A. Pre-registration for parking and fuel is available. Orion Flight Services, Inc. has hard surface parking available on the Orion Ramp daily located on the North Ramp Main Terminal Area at the end of taxiway A. Look for the Orion Flight Services FBO Office located to the east of the large Orion Hangar and the Airport Main Terminal. Shell Aviation Fuel and Full FBO Services will be available for Orion Ramp Customers. Pre-registration for hard surface ramp parking and fuel is available.
