Ultralight aircraft activities are based at the Ultralight Red Barn located at the south end of the flight line. Free shuttles are available from Phillips 66 Plaza to the Ultralight area. Utralight flying activities are held (weather permitting) each morning and after the afternoon air show. Ultralight forums and exhibitors also at this area.

Volunteers are welcome throughout the event in many areas. Volunteers receive recognition and a great way to have an "insider's view" of EAA AirVenture. A volunteer sign-up kiosk is open near the Red Barn Store in Camp Scholler. Volunteers may also sign up at individual aircraft areas, such as Vintage, Warbirds, Homebuilt Headquarters, Ultralight Barn and the Seaplane Base.
