Where to Stay

With more than 625,000 visitors from 75 countries expected to attend EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008, it's a great idea to make your lodging reservations as soon as possible. Fortunately, there are plenty of lodging options for you to choose from. These include hotels & motels, EAA's Camp Scholler, onsite airplane camping, college dormitories, and private housing. Best of all, it's easy to find the one that suits your needs.

Camping
Camp Scholler
One of the most popular ways to experience EAA AirVenture is to camp at EAA's Camp Scholler. It allows you to enjoy the camaraderie and fun of being with 40,000 of your fellow aviation enthusiasts all week long. Camp Scholler is conveniently located on the EAA Convention grounds. Individual campsites are approximately 20' x 30' in size and are available for both vehicle and tent camping. Larger RVs will be accommodated at the standard daily camping rates. Amenities include a general store, the Fly-In Theater, shower facilities, portable toilets, RV pumping station, and portable pumping services. Designated camping areas are also available for the handicapped, 24-hour generator use, and those who bring pets. Electric and water hookups not available. At least on person in your party must be an EAA member to camp in Camp Scholler, and you can join right at the entry gate if you like. There's no pre-registration for Camp Scholler, but not to worry-there are always plenty of sites available! Camping rates are $20 per night with a three day minimum.

Aircraft Camping
Flying in to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and pitching a tent next to your aircraft is one of the greatest ways to experience the event. Shower facilities, portable toilets, and access to food and supplies are all available. Aircraft camping areas on the EAA AirVenture grounds are segmented into three categories:

• Showplane camping areas, including:
  Vintage camping area
  Homebuilt camping area
  Warbird camping area

• Ultralight camping area
• General aircraft camping area/North 40

At least one person in your party must be an EAA member to camp in these areas. All aircraft must be tied down and no pre-registration is available. Camping rates are $20 per night with a three day minimum. Click here for airplane camping guidelines.
WIFI ACCESS and INTERNET CAFE LOCATIONS

Private Housing
There are hundreds of private homes available to rent during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. They're an ideal solution for families, groups, and EAA chapters. These accommodations are all within 10 miles of the EAA Convention site. Rooms in these homes average between $50 and $100 per night and entire homes average between $200 and $300 per night. Starting March 1, 2008, you can call the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau's housing hotline at 920-235-3007 to reserve an entire house, a room in someone's home, or a camper/RV on their property. College Dormitories
More than 3,000 rooms are available in area college dormitories, all within 25 miles of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Staying in a room at any of the these dormitories is a convenient and economical housing option during the event. It's also a great way to meet EAA members and other aviation enthusiasts from around the world. Restroom facilities and a variety of other amenities are provided by each college for your convenience. Hotels & Motels
There are thousands of hotel and motel rooms within an hour's drive of Oshkosh. While many inside the Oshkosh city limits are booked year to year by EAA AirVenture attendees, there are plenty of others to choose from. To learn about available hotel and motel options, you can call the Oshkosh Convention and Visitor's Bureau's housing hotline at 920-235-3007.
