Cirrus Design Corporation today announced that its highly anticipated very-light jet, currently dubbed "The-Jet," successfully completed its inaugural flight this morning at Duluth International Airport.

The single-turbine aircraft took off at approximately 10 a.m. and flew for 45 minutes. According to Cirrus' news release, the seven-passenger aircraft "performed flawlessly."

Although Cirrus is still finalizing specific plans for showcasing The-Jet at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh at the end of this month, EAA's discussions with this "fixture" exhibitor suggest considerable up-close exposure of the aircraft's design, composition, and performance to AirVenture attendees.
