Terrafugia Inc., developers of the Transition "roadable vehicle," will display a non-operational model at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008. The two-place plane, which will meet light-sport aircraft (LSA) standards, is anticipated to have a top speed of about 85 mph on the road and a cruising speed of 100 kts (115 mph) in the air. It will be powered by a Rotax 912 engine and priced at $148,000.

Carl and Anna Dietrich, the MIT graduates who created the flying car, displayed the mockup and conducted a folding wing demonstration at the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring in January.
