A grand-prize donation from Cessna Aircraft
Company will give aspiring pilots attending this year's EAA AirVenture
Oshkosh another reason to visit the new Learn-to-Fly Center on the
grounds. One lucky attendee will receive a $5,000 credit toward flight
instruction at any of the roughly 300 Cessna Pilot Centers spanning the
nation. The grand prize drawing will take place on the event's final day,
Sunday, July 29.
Throughout the week of AirVenture, July
23-29, EAA and its affiliate, the National Association of Flight
Instructors (NAFI), will present the Learn-to-Fly Center as a resource and
encouragement to AirVenture attendees who are considering taking the first
steps toward becoming a pilot.
In addition to the literature, mini-forums,
interactions with flight instructors, free student sport pilot
certificates, inspirational videos, and other offerings aimed at getting
aviation enthusiasts into the sky, the Learn-to-Fly Center will conduct
hourly and daily drawings for prizes that will enhance the recipient's
learning experience.
"With Cessna's donation, we'll add an
extraordinary grand prize to round out the week: a major advancement in
one individual's quest for the sky," said EAA President and
AirVenture Chairman Tom Poberezny. "EAA and Cessna share a commitment
to bringing new participants into aviation."
The Learn-to-Fly Center will be located in
the South Tent of EAA Member Village, just west of the event's central
showcase area, AeroShell Square.
