What Do You Fly? You'll Have
Friends At AirVenture
|
The family reunion culture of EAA
AirVenture is no more evident than in the large number of aircraft owner
and type club gatherings that take place throughout the week. Nearly two
dozen organized gatherings, from the huge “Bonanzas to Oshkosh” mass
fly-in and Beechcraft 75th anniversary, to informal get-togethers of those
who fly rare aircraft types, are on the schedule.
“Oshkosh is the place where aviation enthusiasts
can connect with kindred spirits, no matter what kind of airplane you fly,”
said Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman. “There are
picnics for owners of certain aircraft, type-club dinners, and
meet-and-greet sessions that bring people together to talk about flying
their favorite aircraft. There is no other place in the world where this
many groups come together to celebrate the joy of flight. Come join your
friends and fellow fliers at Oshkosh this summer.”

Many type club and aircraft groups also organize informal gatherings
through newsgroups and websites. Larger owner-groups events are also
posted at the AirVenture web site.
