EAA AirVenture Air Shows
See the best at Oshkosh!

2008 information will be posted as it becomes available.

Some of the world's finest aerobatic performers are coming to Oshkosh for the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration at Wittman Regional Airport. Every year, many pilots make Oshkosh a priority for their performance schedule because they have the opportunity to strut their stuff in front of their peers in the aerobatic community, as well as perhaps the most aviation-savvy audience on the planet.

Veteran AirVenture performer and 2004 National Aviation Hall of Fame inductee Patty Wagstaff describes what it means to fly at the "World's Greatest Aviation Celebration."

"It's always an honor to be invited here," she said."

Wagstaff explains that most air shows, 20 percent or so of the crowd is made up of pilots or aviation people. "Here, everybody is your peer. So you get up there and you look down and go, 'Oh my gosh, I'm flying in front of (thousands) of my peers!' I've seen performers who never get nervous flying air shows at all, get nervous here. So it's always very special flying here."

"If you look at the lineup of air show performers who have flown at AirVenture through the years, it is a list of the very best aerobatic pilots in the world over the past three decades," said Tom Poberezny, EAA President and AirVenture Chairman. "The mixed audience of aviation enthusiasts who understand the skill and dedication required by performers, as well as the general public entertained by "breathtaking" acts in the sky, make AirVenture Oshkosh a highly anticipated venue for these world-class air show performers."

That's why every afternoon during the convention you'll see scores of faithful fans slowly begin to migrate to the flightline, making sure they have a good viewpoint of their favorite performers. In addition to the top aerobatic pilots and teams, local favorites include the Warbirds of America; specialty military aircraft like a Marine Corps Harrier; or the Liberty Parachute Team and others.
