EAA Activities Center

2008 information will be posted as it becomes available.

Volunteers at the EAA Activities Center have a variety of fun and interesting activities planned for you and your family. The Activities Center staff will also help you find answers to a variety of AirVenture questions. You can also view a film at the Flying Cinema, participate in an Aerobics Class, use the Family Message Center, learn a new skill at the Craft Tent, attend a Flying Companion Seminar, review the Forums schedules or sit and talk with the friendly people in the Hospitality Pavilion, it is also the hub for our Aircraft Greeter’s that welcome the pilots to AirVenture.

The Activities Center HQ is also a place to sign up to volunteer for the any of the areas handled by the Activities Center. Volunteers see AirVenture from "behind the scenes".

The Activities Center has expanded over the years to serve women, men, children, pilots and non-pilots. Drop by this year, get acquainted, and add even more memorable activities to your AirVenture visit. The Activities Center is located to the east of the Forum Buildings and South of the Warbirds Area.

Aerobics
Get your day off to a healthy start by participating in our Aerobics Class that is taught by a certified aerobics teacher.

Aircraft Greeters
As a volunteer, you will be part of a team that welcomes the transient aircraft pilots as they arrive at AirVenture. It’s a wonderful way to meet a lot of nice people and see some pretty amazing planes that these pilots have flown to AirVenture.

Craft Tent
You can register for classes to learn new crafts or just enjoy the fellowship of other crafty people. There are many activities for children.

Flying Cinema
Special aviation videos are shown each day. It’s a good place to relax for awhile and see movies of aviation from the early days to the present. The Flying Cinema is located on the south end of the Activities Center Office.

Flying Companion Seminar
Come learn about what it takes to fly an airplane. This course is geared toward the non-pilot who may be interested in learning to fly. You will learn how you can help the pilot in command, read a navigational chart, use the radio, and much more. The time and location of the seminar will be listed in the Forums Schedule or stop by the Activities Office to get more information.

Hospitality Pavilion
If you are looking for a place to relax for a few minutes and “cool it”, stop in and visit with the friendly volunteers at the Hospitality Pavilion. It’s a wonderful place to meet new people and old friends. You are welcome to sit in the shade and enjoy a cool drink before you head out to experience more AirVenture.

YOUTH ACTIVITY PAVILLION, CAMP SCHOLLER

(Must be at least age 5 for Pavilion Activities)
Playground, volleyball, zel ball, knok hockey, crafts, games and a story hour at 10:15 daily. PARENTS MUST REGISTER EACH CHILD WITH PLAYGROUND SUPERVISOR BEFORE PARTICIPATING.

Afternoon at the YMCA - Ages 6 and older (Ages 6-10 must be accompanied by a parent at the YMCA)
Sponsored by the Oshkosh Community YMCA. Swimming, gym and game room activities. Please pre-register your child at the Youth Activity Pavilion prior to 11 a.m.

TEEN DANCE
DJ in Camp Scholler.

KIDVENTURE

KidVenture is a unique area for young people interested in airplanes and the world of flight. Located immediately behind the EAA AirVenture Museum, KidVenture features hands on flying activities, aviation personalities, educational materials and much more of special interest to young aviation enthusiasts. Free admission for all AirVenture participants.
