Walter Extra to discuss new aircraft at Oshkosh 2007

Extra Aircraft Corporation celebrates yet another exciting milestone in the company’s history as it introduces the Extra 300/SR, a new race aircraft, making its debut in the Interlaken, Switzerland Red Bull Air Race July 14 – 15, 2007.

The new Extra 300/SR, piloted by Corsica’s Nicholas Ivanoff, has a number of significant design changes to improve performance on the racecourse. A derivative of the reliable single-seat Extra 300S, the 300/SR’s new wing design and modified tail surfaces have been specifically developed to reduce weight and drag, while improving acceleration and cornering.

The Extra 300/SR incorporates a number of the enhancements currently found in the Extra 300SHP, the Unlimited air show aircraft flown by aerobatic champion and top air show performer Michael Goulian. The new 550 kg race aircraft is powered by a 330-hp Lycoming AEIO 580 Thunderbolt engine and MT propeller.

Extra aerobatic aircraft are currently distributed in the United States by Southeast Aero in St. Augustine, Florida. For more information about the entire Extra Aircraft lineup, go to www.ExtraAircraft.com or www.SoutheastAero.com.
