Chevron returns to fuel
aircraft
Chevron Global Aviation’s
crew, along with the AllStars, returns to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh this
year. The AllStars, a group of top line service personnel from the
company’s network of more than 750 FBOs across the country and the
Caribbean, will help ensure the safest event possible, including
operation of their state-of-the-art, wireless fuel trucks.
In addition, Chevron will
be piloting a new program called the ShootingStars. The program is
designed to further enhance safety and is geared toward customer
service.
Also new this year is the
EAA Air Academy scholarship program. Chevron and EAA will present a
named scholarship for the EAA Air Academy. This aviation camp provides
young people, ages 12-18, an opportunity to learn about general
aviation.

Veterans Airlift Command
helps wounded soldiers unite
Veterans Airlift Command
(VAC) is a new Minnesota-based organization that provides nationwide air
transportation to wounded warriors, veterans, and their families for
medical and other compassionate purposes. They do this through a
national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
Founded by EAA Warbirds
of America member and Vietnam veteran Walt Fricke, VAC is here this week
with one of its clients, Sgt. John Kriesel, who lost his legs to a
roadside bomb in Fallujah, Iraq.
Fricke also flies with
the Trojan Horsemen T-28 flight team, which now flies as the VAC Honor
Guard Flight Team and will perform with the warbirds Monday and
Wednesday at AirVenture. Kriesel is expected to appear at the
announcer’s stand Monday when the T-28 team is flying to help promote
the organization. Look for VAC’s Hummer H3 as it runs up and down the
flightline during today’s air show. |
