Happy 60th USAF!
The U.S. Air Force brings
its "Heritage to Horizons"exhibit to EAA AirVenture this year
to mark its 60th anniversary. More than 30 displays fill a
10,000-square-foot pavilion on the grounds, recognizing the notable
people and aircraft that have been part of the USAF’s first 60 years.
In addition, the Air Force Recruiting Command will return to Oshkosh
with its popular "Cross Into The Blue" exhibit.
As one of the officially
designated events of the USAF’s 60th anniversary commemoration, EAA
will host several current military aircraft this week, including the
F-22 Raptors, U-2 spy plane, C-5, C-17, and C-130 cargo planes, and A-10
and F-4 Phantom fighters, among others.
In addition, several
fly-bys are scheduled, including the B-2 stealth bomber on Saturday,
July 28, and two B-1 Lancer bombers and the F-117 stealth fighter on
Sunday, July 29.
Other Air Force units
appearing include the Wisconsin Air National Guard, displaying an F-15
and F-16; Air Force Reserve Command, Air Force ROTC, Air Force Academy
Liaison Officers, and Air Force Recruiting Services. |
