2007 Type Club Events at Oshkosh

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is the annual gathering place for aviation enthusiasts, so it’s only natural that many type clubs also hold special events, dinners, and meetings in and around Oshkosh throughout the week. Here is the list of events scheduled during 2007.

Acro Sport Dinner/Meeting will be at Robbins Restaurant, 1810 Omro Road, Oshkosh on Thursday, July 26th, 6:30 p.m.;  cocktails with an awards dinner to follow. RSVP to LaFonda Jean Kinneman at 414-529-2609 or go to the Acro Sport tent in the workshop area during AirVenture.

American Bonanza Society will meet Tuesday, July 24 for annual backyard Bar-B-Que to be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1355 W 20th Avenue. Cocktails (cash bar) at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Adults $25; $13 for children under 12. Register at www.bonanza.org or call ABS at 316-945-1700. Tickets can be purchased at ABS tent during AirVenture but they sellout fast.

American Waco Club will hold a 6:30 p.m. social, 7:30 p.m. dinner at the American Legion Hall on Lake Winnebago on Thursday, July 26th. Tickets for the chicken/swiss steak buffet meal are available at the Vintage Red Barn. $18.00 adults, children under 12 free.

Avid Flyer/Airdale meeting in the Big Tent at the AirVenture Seaplane Base at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25th.

Bearhawk Builders will meet on Tuesday, July 24th at 6 p.m. in Camp Scholler. BBQ chicken, chips, appetizers, etc, soda/pop. Cash donation. Sign-up and receive directions at Avipro Aircraft display.

Beech Aero Club will meet at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1355 W 20th Avenue/at the west end of runway 9/27 on Friday, July 27th at 6:30 p.m. Cash bar; individuals will order from the menu at their own expense. Call Bob Schmidt at 414-397-8215 for reservations.

Bellanca-Champion Club will meet on Thursday, July 26th at 6 p.m. at the Fin & Feather Restaurant, 22 W Main Street, Winneconne. Sign up at Tent Club display at AirVenture where ride-sharing can be arranged. Buffet and salad bar or order from menu. Order and pay your own bill. Presentation by Chief Engineer, Andrew Vano on Bellanca History.

Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association will meet on Wednesday, July 25th at the Hilton Garden Inn, North side of RW 9/27. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $45. Menu is Salmon and Filet Mignon; accommodations for special requests. Make your reservation on COPA website - event area: http://www.cirruspilots.org/.

Coot Builder’s Club will meet on Saturday, July 28th in the Big Tent at the AirVenture Seaplane Base. 9 a.m. a la Carte breakfast; meeting until 11 a.m.

DeHavilland Aficionados – Tiger Moth and Chipmunk Club dinner on Thursday, July 26th at the Water City Grill, 107 Algoma Blvd - upstairs (downtown Oshkosh), 6:30 p.m. cocktails, 7:30 p.m. dinner. RSVP to Steve Betzler at sbetzler@empirelevel.com or call 262-368-2003.

Dyke Delta enthusiasts will hold an informal gathering on Thursday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Dave Carpenter hangar at Brennand Airport. This will be a potluck/cookout.

Ercoupe Owners Club will meet on Tuesday, July 24th at Westhaven Golf Club, 1400 S Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh. Cocktails 5:30 p.m.; dinner at 6 p.m. Cost is $20. Contact Syd Cohen at 715-573-7063 or sign up in Type Club Tent.

Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club will meet for breakfast from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27th at IHOP Restaurant, 1400 S Koeller Road, Oshkosh. Everyone will pay their own way. Contact Dan at 920-205-4899 with questions.

Homebuilders Dinner, 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th in the Nature Center Pavilion.

International Stinson Club will meet for a "Fish Fry" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24th at Wendt's on the Lake, N9699 Lakeshore Drive, Van Dyne, WI. Full menu, but local fish - lake perch is specialty - is outstanding. Cost from $10-20. ISC will provide busses from Vintage Red Barn at about 6:15 p.m.

Mustang II/Midget Mustang type club will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25th at Robbins Restaurant, 1810 Omro Rd, Oshkosh. Buffet menu. Cost $15. For reservations contact Mustang Aero at 248-649-6818.

RV Builders annual family reunion barbecue in Camp Scholler will be on Wednesday, July 25th at 6 p.m. Dinner cost $7.50 ($8 by PayPal) Reservations must be made ahead of time at http://home.comcast.net/~bcollinsrv7a/eaa/. Directions: Camp Scholler, on 12th between Lindbergh and Elm (out in the field opposite West End Store). 

Swift Museum Foundation, Inc. will meet on Thursday, July 26th at 7 p.m. at the Fin 'n Feather in Winneconne. Sign up at Swift table in Type Club Tent. Final count and directions at Swift Forum Thursday morning.

TBM Owners and Pilots Association will meet on Tuesday, July 24th at 6 p.m. at the PHP Center. Contact Karelle Michel of EADS Socata at 954-893-1412.
