Another brisk week at LSA Mall

More than two-dozen aircraft are expected to be on display at EAA AirVenture’s Light-Sport Aircraft (LSA) Mall this year. Located just south of AeroShell Square, the LSA Mall is where you can see a wide variety of new, low-cost, LSA including factory-built and amateur-built experimental models as well as sport pilot-eligible standard category planes.

The LSA Mall has been a favorite of AirVenture guests since the emergence of the sport pilot rule in 2004. The growing sport pilot movement is helping enthusiasts learn to fly and gain access to aircraft for half the cost and in half the time of previous alternatives. At the EAA LSA Mall, visitors can inspect the planes, talk to the manufacturers, and ask questions from EAA’s sport pilot experts.

Sport pilot information is also available at the nearby EAA Member Village, on the west edge of AeroShell Square. Also, in the Learn to Fly Center at Member Village, EAA members have the opportunity from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to obtain, at no cost, an FAA student sport pilot certificate, which is required by the FAA for the solo-flight training phase.
