EAA partner Ford Motor Company has pulled out all the stops this year at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. The Ford Hangar, located just off AeroShell Square, has the company’s latest vehicles on display, along with flight simulators, a unique driving sim from Roush Racing, and special events and appearances taking place throughout the week.

Want to "fly" a Ford Tri-Motor? Guests can try out the vintage airliner simulator. Or they can race a Ford vehicle on the streets while driving on one of the several simulators on display. Outside guests can race each other to the top of the climbing wall.

The latest vehicles from Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover are on display, all incorporating Ford’s safety, design, and technology innovations. Also, visitors can learn about the F-250 Super Chief concept vehicle and how the world’s first tri-flex vehicle operates on gasoline, hydrogen, and E85 ethanol fuels.

Muscle cars like the 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustang and one of the new Shelby GT-H Mustangs that are now available to rent at select Hertz locations across the country. Another Mustang, a Roush Stage 3, is the center of the Ford Roush Drag Strip Experience. Guests will have the opportunity to step inside and launch off the line as you run the car "down the track" on a dynamometer. Prizes will be given away for the top driver of each day.

Through Saturday, when the sun goes down, be sure to head out towards the Fly-In Theater (located behind the Camp Store) as you relax under the stars and watch one of the several classic aviation movies beginning each evening at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Eligible guests to the Ford Hangar can pick up entry cards and visit designated waypoints to receive a Ford 2006 collector’s hat and will be entered to win the grand prize, a Ford nostalgic-style jukebox. Completed entry cards are to be turned into the Ford Hangar Redemption Center. A winner will be drawn 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

EAA members can get their Partner Recognition PINs at the Ford Hangar on most Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The one-year membership requirement is waived during AirVenture, allowing new members to receive their PIN immediately and take advantage of Partner recognition pricing.

Special appearances scheduled this week include auto legend Carroll Shelby, designer of some of the most well-known high-performance cars in history. He’ll be at the Ford Hangar at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, and Thursday (July 25-27) signing autographs.

Also, NASCAR team owner Jack Roush will appear with two of his team’s drivers for autograph sessions. Today from 2-3 p.m. he’ll join Carl Edwards, driver of the #99 Office Depot Ford, and on Wednesday from 2-3:30 p.m., Matt Kenseth of the #17 Dewalt Ford sits in.
