Look at What’s Happening at EAA Member Village

AirVenture's Member Village is the place where all EAA members learn more about their association's services and benefits.

At Member Village, there are endless reasons for EAAers to visit, and come back again and again throughout the week of AirVenture. You can join or renew your membership; get answers to virtually any EAA or AirVenture question; attend special members-only events; visit exhibits for all the EAA member programs, benefits and services; see unique aircraft displays; try out flight simulators; check e-mail at the Internet Cafe while enjoying a cup of coffee from the new Starbucks Cafe; follow progress of an airplane building project at the new Homebuilders Workshop; or reserve the flight of your life on the EAA B-17. And that’s just scratching the surface.

Members not only receive member rates on admission, special discounts and perks throughout the week, but once inside the gate they can enjoy an area overflowing with exclusive services and benefits; the EAA Member Village, which enters its third year at AirVenture.

Members will receive a "Perks Book" when they first enter AirVenture that includes coupons to win great prizes at the Village. The Member Village is open on the day before AirVenture opens and stays open from 8 a.m. until after the special events in the Village are complete each day. The three tents that comprise EAA Member Village are located in the heart of EAA AirVenture, just west of AeroShell Square.

North Tent Features
See the Diamond DA-40, which one lucky member who joins or renews will win for a two-year lease period. Also see the custom Harley-Davidson VRSCA V-ROD motorcycle complete with a custom EAA logo paint scheme that members who recruit others to join EAA are eligible to win.

The popular Wheel of Fun is back this year, where members can use one of their perks coupons to spin the wheel and answer a trivia question to win a prize. The Hegy El Chuparosa airplane from EAA AirVenture Museum will be on display, and you can get a stamped AirVenture postcard to send home to family and friends for a $1 donation to EAA Young Eagles.

Other North tent features: The popular Internet Cafe’ and new Starbucks Cafe’; EAA publications area, where members can have their photo printed on the cover of either Sport Aviation or Sport Pilot magazine covers; a penny drop of 1.25 million pennies commemorating the new Young Eagles milestone; and a silent auction featuring aviation memorabilia and products with proceeds benefiting EAA’s youth education programs.

To celebrate the 50th birthday of the Cessna 172, we’ll have a color-by-number project for the kids right beside several simulators, including the Wright Flyer simulator. Chapter members will want to stop by the chapter thermometer and place a dot on their state with their chapter number. Representatives from EAA’s regional fly-ins will be on hand to provide information on their events.

South Tent Features
The South Membership Tent in the Village features our new Homebuilders Corner where we’ll be constructing an airplane with all materials and tools provided by Sonex Ltd. And every day we’ll have a special presentation for non-pilot members called "Now You Can Fly!" with information on how you can become a sport pilot. Special prizes and surprises will also highlight these sessions, and American Legend Aircraft Company will have a Legend Cub on display.

Members can also purchase AirVenture rides on the B-17, plus sign their names and put pins on the popular member map showing where you come from.

As always, EAA Member Services team is on hand to help with questions. Those who join or renew will receive the member reward receive the popular map light, which debuted at last year.

The other tent, located west of the South tent and kitty corner from the North, has EAA merchandise featuring Caribbean-themed apparel. EAA members receive a 5 percent discount on purchases when they present their EAA membership card.

EAA’s member benefit partners displaying at Member Village include Falcon Insurance, with the EAA Aircraft Owned and Non-Owned insurance plans; AirFleet Capital, with the new EAA Aircraft Financing Program; Ford Motor Company featuring the Partner Recognition/member pin program for purchasing Ford Motor company vehicles; John Deere Company with equipment discounts for members and their popular gator giveaway; Hertz Rental Cars featuring gold card status free for all EAA members; and EAA FlightPlanner, the free flight planning service through AeroPlanner for members.

All EAA partners offer wonderful prizes when members use their perks coupons.

EAA Member Village is the only place you can win tickets to the world aviation premiere of the movie, Flyboys, which takes place on Wednesday night. Tickets for EAAers wishing to see public screenings of the movie, OneSixRight on Friday night are also available at the Village.
