Cessna Base Camp in
the North 40
Get down to the North 40
this week to see something that has not happened at EAA AirVenture
before: a specially designated area set aside for as many as 500
airplanes to honor the 50th anniversary of the Cessna 172/182 dubbed the
Cessna Base Camp.
The exclusive parking
area allows owners/operators of the most produced airplane model in
history to park and camp together, and be close to several activities
planned throughout the week.
Seventy-five of those
spots are filled by aircraft participating in the "Cessnas to
Oshkosh" (c2o) group flight in honor of the milestone. Tonight
Cessna will host a free barbecue for those parked at the Cessna Base
Camp, featuring the Johnsonville Bratwurst Mega Grill. On Wednesday, c2o
holds its own barbecue at the Base Camp, with tickets available for
purchase at the base camp.
