The aircraft parking information and field conditions can be accessed via a recorded telephone message at on our Aircraft Parking Status page. This information will be available in 2007.

Foreign Visitors
Foreign visitors/members flying to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2006 from any country must apply for and receive a TSA waiver. Print out the waiver form from the TSA General Aviation web site,  then fax it to the phone number on the form at least 14 days before you need the waiver.

Foreign visitors/members flying to EAA AirVenture 2006 may also refer to the FAA’s International Operations web page for additional border crossing information.

Aircraft registered in either Canada or Mexico do not need the waiver if they can comply with the terms of the current border crossing Notam. NOTAM (2/5319) for VFR or IFR operations.

Experimental amateur-built aircraft and ultralight aircraft registered in Canada do not need the waiver if they can comply with the terms of the current border crossing NOTAM (2/5319) and the FAA Canadian ultralight and amateur-built aircraft border crossing Special Flight Authorization (SFA)

Caribbean Island registered aircraft must also comply with specific instructions issued by the FAA to fly to and from the U.S. Detailed information on this border crossing information may also be found on the FAA International web site.

Pilots flying foreign-registered aircraft who are unable to comply with any of the above, as it applies to you, must apply for and receive a TSA international waiver.

International Pilots Wishing to Fly into the U.S.
Information for international pilots flying into the U.S. as well as information on foreign-registered aircraft and border crossings. The new TSA International Waiver office fax number to submit this waiver is 571-227.1947. NOTE: This waiver form is the same form used by U.S. pilots wishing to apply for a waiver to U.S. Notam's or TFR requirements. In these cases, the completed waiver form needs to be faxed to the TSA Domestic Waiver office at 571-227.2948. More information.

Clearing U.S. Customs 
Wittman Regional Airport, Oshkosh, WI, is not an airport of entry for clearing U.S. Customs - you can not clear customs at Oshkosh - U.S. Customs will not be providing any services at Oshkosh before, during or after AirVenture. To find a aviation port of entry call U.S. Customs at 312-983-9100 or visit their web site. This information may also be obtained by asking a FAA Flight Service Station by calling 1-800-WX-Brief.

Graphic TFR Notams
When flying in the U.S. EAA strongly encourages you to check Notams for current temporary flight restrictions (TFR's) that may affect your route of flight. There are two methods available to do this:

1. EAA Flight Planner - plots your desired route of flight and shows any TFR's that may affect the flight. The TFR display on this site allows you to show the TFR on many different types of aviation maps, including a VFR section.
2. FAA Graphic NOTAM web page - using the links for each posted TFR, this site allows you to read the exact NOTAM and also provides a link to a graphic display of the TFR area. The graphic display does not allow you the option to select different types of aviation maps to display the TFR on.

Convention Grounds and Wittman Regional Airport
Wittman Regional Airport has been home to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh since 1970. The airport and adjacent property create a 1,500-acre site for the annual celebration of flight.

Named after Steve Wittman, the local native who became a nationally renowned aircraft designer, builder and racer for more than six decades, the facility has grown several times since EAA first came to the facility.

A number of features at Wittman make it an outstanding airport for the event. First is the support from Oshkosh and Winnebago County, which enthusiastically welcomed the event in 1970 and EAA Headquarters in the early 1980s.

Next is the airport itself. It is a somewhat unique facility because its two major runways — the 8,000-foot north-south Runway 18/36 and the 6,100-foot east-west Runway 9/27 — do not cross. That allows air traffic to be safely moved much more efficiently. During EAA AirVenture, the main north-south Taxiway A is also utilized as a runway.

Although development has come to both the north and east sides of the airport, there are still hundreds of acres to safely park aircraft. Smaller runways 4/22 and 13/31, which are not active during AirVenture, make outstanding hard-surface areas for aircraft requiring that type of parking.

An airport master plan developed in compliance with FAA requirements in the early 1990s allowed EAA to shape its convention grounds for future growth. Since then, new exhibit hangars, taxiways and other construction has updated the site.

EAA-owned and leased properties form the core of the parking and camping areas at AirVenture. Camp Scholler annually welcomes 40,000 campers while each day during AirVenture, auto parking areas can accommodate more than 12,000 vehicles.

A special one-way loop traffic system developed in the late 1980s helps eliminate traffic tie-ups at the event’s busiest times, which are usually in the late morning and following the air show in the late afternoon. Internal service roads also assist movement of people and support vehicles.

Continual improvements made throughout the site have accelerated over the past five years, creating a site that serves aviation enthusiasts, regardless of how they travel to and enjoy AirVenture.
